Next year, mental health assessments will be added to the mix - there are questions on here already in that regard but they are not required at this point. What if your primary care practitioner is not a GP? What if your health philosophy has indicated that mainstream medicine is not in your child's best interests? What if your religion says that you don't see doctors?
We are all emotional when nothing goes right, aren't we? So, what's the difference between teens of yesteryears and teens of today? I can only think of 2 major differences:
1. Teens of yesteryears may have spent more time with at least one of their parents. Parents these days are too engrossed with their careers. They don't even know when their teens are at home or elsewhere anymore.
Teenagers on the other hand may be more into fashion, their own feelings, and their computer games. They do not really care about the country's history or whether their forefather sold spices in the past.
2. Teens of yesteryears do not VISIT psychiatrists over the slightest problems like hyperactivity or inability to focus; they do not TAKE psychiatric medicines.
We "take advantage" of the fact that money and "magic" psychiatric pills can solve everything. And sadly, until society admits to these ugly facts, suicides of teenagers AND adults will continue to increase.

In just four weeks, there have been at least three reported cases of teen suicides in Singapore.
Lim En Han and Krystal Aki Mizoguchi, both 18, and Darryle Tan Guan Wei, 16, all fell to their deaths.
Lim was a bright Hwa Chong Institution student who was pulled out of school after encountering relationship problems and difficulties with studies, while Mizoguchi was depressed after bad 'A'-Level results ruined the Yishun Junior College student's chances of getting into a local university.
Darryle Tan, a Sec 4 Express student, had been suspended from school for getting into trouble.
While the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) said there are no major differences in the causes for teen suicide compared to previous years, it did point out that teens nowadays are more internet-savvy and have easier access to social media.

It has not caused any stir, regardless of boarding requirements. It's like they are no different from ordinary passengers; almost no one noticed.
Once you've "arrived", your status will not be kept in mind, and therefore you will not feel 'superior'. You will not care about trivial things, you will not get angry over trivial matters. You will not go "You don't know who I am?" No "ladies first", everyone queues.

I thought about all of my complaints - those are not really necessary, are they? If they are necessary, there will be too many unhappy things and grievances in life. Although now I can now laugh positively, it is one of my points of "higher learning".
